Zach Freemantle In A Cowboy Hat While Xavier Players Hit Horns Down Immediately After Ending Texas' Season Is The Perfect March Celebration
I don't care if it was the First Four. Main reason? John Rich, Nate and myself now know we have Xavier in #ExperianBusters. Second reason? This game was fucking awesome. Texas up 13, looked like they would run away with it, especially when Xavier had a bunch of foul trouble, only for everyone to remember that Rodney Terry is still their coach. To say Sean Miller against Rodney Terry was a massive advantage for Xavier isn't making it clear enough. Miller coached laps around Rodney Terry and likely ended his Texas career
Can't blame them. You have all this talent and was basically a nothing.
But this is about Xavier. You win, you get the story. I love the move of Zach Freemantle putting on a cowboy hat. I don't even know how quick he got that, he did an interview on the court with Rothstein and then promptly went to trolling. It fits him perfectly. He's a bit of an asshole, he gets under the skin of every opposing fan. Plus when Rodney Terry publicly cried about horns down, you hit horns down. Don't care if you're John Hughley or a bench mob dude. Horns down no matter what.
Here's the difference. Xavier had 5 guys in double digits for scoring. Freemantle and Conwell in foul trouble? Sure, Hughley and Hunter hit massive threes. Foster goes for 22. They just find the mismatch and find ways to score. Texas could have stepped on their throats and never did. Keeping it close at halftime was the difference and then Sean Miller just outcoached Terry.
We made it though. We have it to the field of 64, the way it should be. Now we go.
