'I Told You We Weren't A 30-Point Underdog' - Facts Only From Norfolk State Head Coach Robert Jones After They Lost By 26 To Florida

Alright so earlier in the week Robert Jones was upset that Norfolk was nearly a 30-point dog to Florida

"I know Florida's really, really good, and they run a great program, got great players, but are we that bad that the point spread is like that? I'm a little angry, and like I said, I'm a little bit more focused and play better when I'm angry. I think the players play better when they're angry."

I get it. No coach or player wants to be told they basically have no chance of winning, especially when Norfolk pulled off one of the biggest upsets as a 15 seed in 2012. And it looked ugly in this game at one point. That is until an 11 point run happened right before half:

But I love this from Robert Jones. He's been awesome at Norfolk State, took a loss to one of the best teams in the country and cracked a joke. It was facts only. They only lost by 26, therefore he was right. He also should be in the mix for the VCU job now that Ryan Odom left for Virginia. I digress, but had to say that. Someone in the media room should have let out a pity laugh. The man was waiting for someone, anyone to react and it was just silence. Loosen up a little bit, the people there were the same people who heard him get upset a couple days ago.

So well played. Florida hit over 91 points, Norfolk wasn't a 28-point underdog let alone 30. Perfect game if you ask me.
