March Is Here: College Basketball Teams Once Again Show They Have No Idea What The Hell To Do Late In Games

This might sum up college basketball at its finest. We finally had an AWESOME game with scoring and everything like that. It lived up to the hype. John Tonje also lived up to the hype as an All-American, but this last play. What the hell man? I thought we were about to get overtime. The way Wisconsin closed that game and Tonje was getting to the rim it just felt like it was bound to happen. You have to have some sort of movement besides clear out for Tonje. You want Tonje to get the ball, you want him to have the ball but Blackwell was awesome too. There just has to be something there.

And look, yeah, this run started with the nut shot. This can't keep happening:

This can't be an ejection. This has been a problem all year. It's not intentional. You want to give an intentional foul, sure, but you can't eject them. Anyways, as this was happening, Gonzaga took advantage of a Houston melt only to have this:

Just the perfect summary of college basketball. Losing the ball, trying to throw it all over the place and then get it stuffed in your face. At least we're finally getting some close games. Eventually we'll get that game-winner. But this is college basketball.
