'I Do Stupid Shit Sometimes' - Dan Hurley With A Perfect Summary Of How He Coaches And How He Should Be Viewed

This right here is why I will defend Dan Hurley, especially as a non-UConn guy. I don't care if he wins or loses, unless he's playing Kentucky. But, Dan Hurley is AWESOME for college basketball. He's the character we need in the sport since it's driven by coaches. We're a few years out from losing faces like Self, Izzo, Calipari and that era. What better than a man who is willing to call another man baldy?

Plus, who among us doesn't do stupid shit sometimes? It's the perfect apology and excuse for how you end up in this situation. Really Hurley should just say this basically every single time he talks. It's a pre-apology. If you say you do stupid shit sometimes, you can't get yelled at if you do stupid shit. I don't even think it's that stupid. He's just an asshole. He's an elite coach who is an asshole. Somehow we lost the ability to just say that. He's not even an asshole to his players or anything, the players love him. That's all you want from a coach to go with winning.

He's not a phony, a fake or a cheater. He's just someone who may or may not lose his mind from time to time. I don't blame him. You ever get caught in an argument or an experience you don't want to be in? Of course. We're just not in front of a million people. Perfect description of what happened here. He did stupid shit sometimes, but he's not a bad guy.
