Football Holiday: The NFL Continues To Take Over Christmas, Adds Another Game And Is Giving Us A Triple-Header This Year

It's a slow day out there, but this is something that caught my eye. Last year we saw the war start to happen between NBA fans and NFL fans. NBA people screaming that Christmas was their day as the NFL laughed, put a couple games on Netflix and took over the day. Well, they are going even more on attack this year and giving us a triple-header. It's a no-brainer. People fucking love football, I don't care how much of a diehard basketball fan you are, people in this country want as much football as possible.

It's a no-brainer. People are sitting at home on Christmas. It's a day that football has been targeting for a few years now. It was only a matter of time before they completely overtook it and we're basically there now with 3 games. You get the early afternoon, late afternoon and night slate all covered. I know the whole streaming and games being on every day of the week can get annoying, but it's a business. Remember, this was last year.

It makes even more sense this year with Christmas on a Thursday. That's easier to move teams around and get the schedule lined up. Here's the thing, we just need great matchups. You're giving us the standalone games, you gotta give us games that should deliver. Obviously you don't know injuries or who lives up to the hype, but give us the 3 best games we can get. Hell, flex them if you have to. Give us a divisional matchup with the playoffs on the line or homefield advantage on the line. That's the key here.

But it's over now. Christmas is a football holiday.
