'Scottie Scheffler. Augusta. Unlikely, But Expected.' - Scottie Put On A Show During The First 9 With A 62-Foot Birdie Putt, Being The Best Golfer In The World

What a call for that 62-foot bomb. It's true. Scottie has reached the point where you blindly just expect everything good to happen. That putt for birdie? Sure, not a problem. Just staying consistent and hitting wedge shots? Absolutely.

He's just been clean so far. He's taking advantage of the good weather, not making mistakes and is 1 back making the turn. In other words, yeah, Scottie Scheffler is playing in The Masters. You don't win 2 of the last 3 and be the favorite for this one if you're not this good. As I blog this he got the tee box at 10 and launched one in the middle of the fairway. This is where he needs to stay in it though. It's cliche but the saying is you can't win the Masters on Thursday, but you can lose it. If Scottie is just lurking around the top of the leaderboard from basically the moment he teed off, everyone is going to start scoreboard watching early.

I just love that call on the putt. It's the perfect summary of Scheffler's career and where he is right now. There's something awesome about watching greatness like this, especially in a sport where one inch can cost you an entire Tournament. Seeing Scottie show up, just play clean and take advantage when he can is special. Now we almost got everyone on the course and we're officially underway. Scottie made his statement early, but the second 9 has been playing way tougher in the early slate so far.
