I Stand Firm That All Air B n B's Should Have Cable In Them

On the day of the National Championship I jumped on Dog Walk with my pals Eddie, Chief and Danny Conrad to talk about my 50 hour bus ride, and then as the conversation usually goes on that pod we branched off to a free swim of different things on your mind. I always like those because they make you think, you can get something off your chest, and it usually sparks a debate. Love those episodes.

Anyway, the topic got to bachelor parties and off that a discussion on Air BnB's vs Hotels. I can't speak enough about how much Air BnB's have changed the game for the better. More places to sit down, more room, a yard in most cases, a grill, a big fridge, everyone being together instead of fighting off naps or doing drugs alone in their room. The Air BnB brings everyone together and it's the best. The same goes for weekends away at homecoming, a wedding, etc.

The one (well two) suggestions I have for Air BnB's would be that every one of them has to ... I repeat HAS TO have cable. Now I can settle for Youtube TV at a minimum, but I think Cable TV is easier for everyone of every age to operate. Think about it, at some point someone in the house is going to want to watch something on TV. If it's a bachelor party, they want to watch sports, if it's a family weekend away they want to watch stuff for the kids, a husband and wife want to watch a movie. And in almost all the cases I have encountered, you show up to an Air BnB and it's some bullshit half ass app, or it's basic channels like ABC,NBC,CBS,Fox and a handful of others- bare minimum, or it's just not cable at all. Absolute joke. People aren't there just to watch TV but at some point they will be watching TV. You cannot be active 24/7 even on vacation where you are trying to get the most of your time at the beach, the lake etc.

These owners are doing an injustice by not getting cable. Especially when you factor in how little the cost of it would be. What are we talking about $150-200 a month ? Let's say you get 4 rentals a month, that's $40/50 extra per rental. Just bake it in to the cost, and here's a little tip don't even say that's why you raised your price ... just bake it in! No one will care. Also, I'm pretty sure it's a tax write off, but I don't do my taxes so don't quote me. It's so easy to just have cable in the property it's almost insane how people don't automatically assume to get it for their renters. Hopefully this blog goes viral and Donnie T puts in a mandate across the country... we can only hope.

One last way to improve your rental. Someone create a company where someone goes and does the shopping for you and loads up the fridge with your drinks food snacks etc. Nothing worse than showing up off the plane, dying to open the fridge for a cold one of choice and it's barren. Someone create this service, it would clean up.

PS - don't say services like Uber Eats or Instacart offer this ... they always screw it up/ drop it on the front steps. I want soup to nuts service of organizing the fridge, the cabinets etc. Figure it out.
