Zedd Closing Out Coachella With The Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, Playing "Clarity", Might Have Singlehandedly Changed My Mind About Coachella Sucking, And Making Me Wish I Went
Just kidding.
Coachella still fucking sucks. But this was absolutely unreal.
And you can knock Zedd all you want, and call him a creating music in his brain, and then using a computer and electronic keyboard to compose it, saying he's not a real musician, all you want.
Just know that there's a strong chance he can play your favorite musicians instrument, and everybody else in their band's also.
(As he demonstrated, on the drums, when he brought John fucking Mayer out on stage to play "Automatic" live with him at the same show.)
Or tickling the ivories with Julia Michaels (her voice gives bigger chills than your mother in law).
Or when he brought out Incubus to play "Drive"?
Or Alessia Cara to do their banger "Stay"?
Here is the complete version of "Clarity" from the week prior, with an orchestra intro, but not the LA Philharmonic there, live.
Just an unreal song, still. Played this style, with the talent, and pieces, that an entire fucking orchestra brings to the table, is just absolutely incredible.
That first buildup at the 1:40 mark had me ready to jump through the ceiling and it wasn't even the real drop.
When that drop did hit though at the 2:45 mark, if you didn't at the very minimum crack a smile you're either in your 60s, have a giant dump in your pants, or both.
If you hate any music that's electronic out of sheer stubborn nonsense, then here Zedd was playing the theme from Severence on the piano. The best version of the song you're likely to ever hear.
Zedd is the man.
