Leader: Tom Thibodeau Spent His Press Conference Calling Out The Refs, Fighting To Make Sure Jalen Brunson Gets The Calls He Deserves

Good. This is what I want Thibs to do. No need to answer questions about the offensive game plan, playing Cam Payne only 4 minutes (yeah, I know, 3 fouls and a turnover) or what the hell happened to KAT. This is how you defend your guys. You go after the refs. You know what? I agree. Jalen Brunson deserves more foul calls. He deserves to go the line more. He deserves the superstar treatment and not getting beat up. This is how you trick a fanbase into yelling about everything else, so, well played by Thibs.

Now, look, it hasn't been good. It's been awful in fact. But it's still 1-1, Knicks just need to win one at Detroit and home court advantage is back on. I'm not worried despite the Knicks basically being outplayed for 5 of the 8 quarters in MSG. I'm not going to overreact to whatever the hell KAT did last night, even if people want to scream it's what he did in Minnesota. I'm not going to overreact to Mikal Bridges going about 0-for-20 on clutch shots late in the game last night. I'm not going to overreact to some god awful pick and roll defense, ultimately costing us the game because Dennis Schroder hit a three.

No, I choose to berate the refs. It helps ease the mind, plus it's just game 2 of a best of 7. I choose to trust the team that is destined to get some correct calls on drives here. It's the number 1 move in the coaching playbook from Thibs, break out the complaining about the refs after a game and you'll get a ton of free throws in game 3. We won't stop until there's justice for Jalen Brunson and he gets the calls he deserves.
