Paul Pierce Arriving To The Studio In A Wheelchair Like It Was 2008 Is Exactly Why He's One Of The Greatest To Ever Do It

I think it's fair to say it's been a rough day for those of us in Celtics Nation. I've just been sitting in my office all day still unable to even process what the fuck has gone on to start this series against the Knicks. But perhaps nobody has had it worse than Paul Pierce, who found himself in a bit of a pickle when it comes to the wager he made ahead of Game 2.
Unlike a lot of people in today's day and age who go back on these types of wagers, at least Pierce was a man of his word and paid up
Now, who knows if once the cameras were off he called a quick Uber, but I'm going to give one of my personal favorite Celtics of all time the benefit of the doubt. You have to believe in something you know?
I'd also like to thank Pierce for helping provide just a little bit of humor on a day like today, given what took place last night. Arriving at his set in a wheelchair as an ode to Game 1 of the 2008 Finals? Fantastic move
Could this be what the current Celts need to turn things around? Is there any sort of basketball karma at play here? Am I grasping at straws as I look for anything and everything to cope with being down 0-2? It's all hard to say really.
All I know is I needed a chuckle at a time like this, and I know I can always rely on Pierce to provide it. I know some people don't like this post-playing career version of Pierce, but I couldn't disagree more. He's must watch at all times, whether it's on that show or his podcast with KG.
Now I know what you're thinking because I was thinking it too. What's the poop situation there? In 2008, there's a decent amount of evidence that suggest his shorts were filled with poop when he got in that wheelchair. That feels kind of gross, but nearly 2 decades later I still have no idea who to believe about that. So did Pierce go full 2008 and poop his pants today? You know how marathon runners sometimes shit themselves during their race? Are we sure that didn't happen with Pierce's journey into the studio? Part of me feels like you can't do the wheelchair bit without the poop bit, but that's probably not a great way to spend time on TV.
So once again, thank you Paul for this short moment of joy and laughter. Lord knows I need it.
Now, to the highlights!
