HOLY SHIT ADAM SILVER REALLY DID IT!!!!!

What do I always say about the NBA and their obsession with leaning into the WWE bit? One of the most famous NBA conspiracy theories we have is that the NBA Lottery is rigged. That the league makes the call and bails teams out via allowing them to win the Lottery.

So what happens in 2025? The Dallas Mavericks execute what is largely considered one of the worst trades in sports history. Their franchise craters. The fanbase quits on the team. So what does Adam Silver and the league do? They reward them with Cooper Flagg. Now the trade suddenly makes a whole lot more sense doesn't it?

"Ok Nice, give the Lakers Luka and we'll pay you back by rewarding you with Cooper Flagg" - Adam Silver

I mean what, we're just to believe this was all by chance? Newsflash, the Mavs had never moved up in the Lottery…..ever. In their entire existence

They had just a 1.8% chance to win tonight, which was one of the lowest odds in NBA history to ever end up winning the whole thing

This was always something fun to joke about, but the fact that it actually happened is pretty insane. In fact, the entire top 4 was crazy. Imagine being the Wizards or Jazz right now? Woof. All that tanking and for what? Not even a top 4 pick. That's tough. How about if you're the Sixers? You probably thought this was going to be the savior. Whoops. It's also pretty crazy how close we were to a Wemby/Flagg duo for the next decade. That would have been fairly terrifying for the rest of us, so in that regard maybe it's a good thing that Silver rigged the shit out of this Lottery to bail out the Mavs.

In terms of that being the actual team for Flagg, I don't hate it. Kyrie (maybe), AD, and Flagg is pretty intriguing, but this isn't even really about that. This is about the optics. How is anyone supposed to believe the league is on the level? Their officiating problem is already a disaster, and now this? I'm all for chaos, but I don't think you can be THIS obvious with what you're doing. Give them a top 2 pick or something. But all of a sudden, the Mavs jump for the first time ever and win with just a 1.8% chance? Adam Silver apparently gives no fucks.
