A Pacers Fan Has Been Charged with Stabbing Two Knicks Fans At an Indiana Brewery After Game 2

Fox Indy - A Carmel man has been charged after he reportedly stabbed two New York Knicks fans at a brewery during Game 2 of the NBA’s Eastern Conference Finals earlier this month.

According to court documents filed on Tuesday in Hamilton County, 24-year-old Jarrett Funke has been charged with:

  • One count of battery by means of a deadly weapon, a Level 5 felony
  • One count of battery resulting in serious bodily injury, a Level 5 felony
  • One count of criminal recklessness committed with a deadly weapon, a Level 6 felony

Initially, police were called because of an alleged fight involving a man, later identified as Jarrett Funke. However, once Funke left the brewery, the caller stated that police did not need to respond.

Minutes later, an employee of the brewery called police, stating that Funke had reportedly returned to the brewery’s patio. The caller stated that Funke reportedly stabbed a man in the back and was attempting to leave.

When police arrived, they found two individuals with wounds. The court documents said that one had a stab wound in the back while the other had a laceration in his lower leg

Can you believe these fuckin Knicks fans can’t keep the shit talk and buffoonery within state limits? They need to take it on the road to America’s heartland now?

Just kidding.

As much as I really want to get the New York crowd fired up, I gotta call a fair game.

It was the ancient Chinese philosopher Confucius who’s famously credited as saying, “Before you embark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves".

Shame on Mr. Funke here for stooping to this level, and leaving the fuckin bar to go get a knife, and then return and stab these two.

Vibbs come and get your boy.

I can’t wrap my brain around fighting over sports. I get it if you’re actually playing, but as a spectator watching, I cannot comprehend getting worked up to the point you want to fight another person just because they’re cheering for the other team.

Talk all the shit you want. That’s part of the fun. But the second it goes from verbal and all-in-good-fun, to physical, you’re a fucking loser of the highest regard.

The fact this guy either went to his car, or his house to grab a knife and come back to the scene is alarming.

Once I walk in my front door, I’m not heading back out under any circumstance. I don’t care if Kate Beckinsale texts me to come back. You cross that threshold and you’re officially in disengage mode. Or at least you should be.

The most fucked up part about this whole scenario is that Funke did this after Indiana pulled off a second consecutive road win to go up 2-0 in the series. He should have been loving life, walking on sunshine. Not looking to shank two dirt bag “Knick fans” who probably grew up in Fort Wayne and love the Yankees too.

Clean it up Indiana.

Game 4 tips off tonight at 8pm eastern from Indianapolis.

P.s.- This whole situation made me think of “Guilty Conscience” while I was writing this
