Let The Photoshops Begin: There's An 'Idea' Out There That The Knicks Could Trade Mikal Bridges For Kevin Durant (Again)
This is very much the Leon Rose playbook right here. It's cut and dry for Leon, you sign with him or pack your bags and get traded. Look at the guys he's traded the last couple of years - RJ, Quickley, Randle - he's not opposed to making a move, no matter how long or short someone has been with the Knicks. But, what I do laugh at here is the fact Mikal Bridges could get traded for Kevin Durant (again) only to end up on his original team. Pretty sure that's a first in sports history.
We're at a point that Knicks fans know all too well, photoshops and rumors running all over the goddamn place. What we're not used to is being in the position where running it back isn't the worst option either. I'm not saying the same exact team, the Knicks need to make a move to add some bench depth or another true playmaker, what that is no one knows yet.
What the hell qualifies as a landmark player is beyond me. Obviously Kevin Durant is, well, Kevin Durant, but he's also 36 at this point and coming off injuries. Is that landmark? Giannis for sure is and we know that he has shown some interest in the Knicks. But those are the only two 'big' names that seem to be out there, at least publicly. I will say, if the Suns are desperate, well, make the call.
I have no idea what's going to happen with this roster. We just made the Eastern Conference Finals and shit down our legs in games 1 and 2. There are major problems though, especially since you can't hide KAT and Brunson on defense. But it's more than just 'trade KAT', who was fucking awesome on offense and won game 3 basically by himself in the 4th quarter. Just get ready, we're going to get rumors for basically every player until the trade deadline.
