We Are Officially 1 Week Away From The Oasis Reunion Tour Kicking Off, And Now, Thanks To DraftKings, You Can Get In On A Prop Pool With An Official Over/Under For Shows The Gallagher Brothers Will Play Together Set at 6.5

We are really, truly, only one week away from the biggest reunion in rock music, since Guns n Roses got back together, from taking place.

I can't believe this is really, actually, happening. But by all accounts and signs we've seen leaked out from Liam, and those close to the band, things seem to be going well.

Nate and Robbie have been all over this since the news dropped last year, and Nate dropped a blog highlighting the 30 songs he most wants to hear yesterday -

I'll cover more leading up to next week, but I wanted to make everyone aware of a promotion our friends over at DraftKings are running for this little rendevous that kicks off in Wales next week.

It’s officially time to throw it back to the 2000s- Oasis is actually back, and our partners at DraftKings are giving you a shot to get in on the fun. Enter the Free $2.5K Reunion Tour Pool for a chance to win your share of $2,500 in DK Dollars- all you have to do is answer a few questions. Download the DraftKings app and get in before the pool locks!

Here is a breakdown of the pool. Prop by prop.

PROPS -

PROP #1-

Laugh all you want. But this is not only a possibility, but given this bands history, it's a probability. And I'm not even talking about the brothers Gallagher throwing fists with each other. (Which is honestly a 50/50 chance anytime they're within the same zip code.)

But Oasis crowds were notorious for being pieces of shit, long before it became customary to do so at concerts. We're talking people flinging shit on stage at performers for absolutely no reason whatsoever. Other than being drunk and/or scum.

Liam once got hit with a shoe midsong -

And a few years later, a beer. Which, if you know anything about Liam, he did not handle well

So yah, there's a lot of value here on this prop because it doesn't specify "between Noel and Liam". The possibilities are endless. And for that reason, I am leaning strong towards - YES.

Giphy Images.

PROP #2-

This is a tough one. Hear me out.

The band currently has 17 shows scheduled beginning next Friday in Wales, and wrapping in Ireland at the end of August. They then head to Toronto for 2 more shows before hitting Chicago on August 28th, their first of 2 American cities shows (the other being Metlife Stadium on the 31st). So we're talking NINETEEN shows and about 7 weeks of being together before setting foot in America…

That's a long time for a group of guys who have been at each other's throats for the last 15 years.

It also plays into the next prop.

PROP #3-

Honestly, I don't know on this. My heart is saying yes, because I want this band to stick together, wrap a full worldwide tour, make boatloads of money, and get back in the studio and release new music. But I feel like that's a fairytale fit for a Disney movie or something. And this band is far from that. I'm honestly surprised they're all still alive at this point, and able to reunite. That in itself is a win.

But my head is saying no.

We're talking about two brothers, so fucking stubborn, that it's incomprehensible.

When their hometown suffered a terrorist attack, and a maniac suicide bomber took the lives of 22 people and injured over 1,000 people in Manchester, the entire country came together and begged the brothers to make amends, come together, all for an amazing cause, and help raise money to benefit the victims, and lift everybody's spirits.

What happened?

Liam showed up. He put his pride aside, and heard the call.

Noel was a no show. (Rumors are that he initially said he would show up, but later ducked out. He has since claimed that "he was never invited", but we all know that's rubbish.)

Not only that, but think about the hundreds of millions of dollars these guys have left on the table by not touring worldwide as a band- insteading opting for their solo runs in 3,000-5,000 cap theaters, and it's an even bigger headscratcher.

Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face.

The Gallagher brothers epitomize it.

So when they officially confirmed this was happening, I couldn't jump fast enough to sign up for the ticket lottery and book my flights.

I'm not exactly sure why, but you'd never know it from Nate and Robbie's blogs or podcast, but I will be in attendance next weekend also. (I won the opportunity to purchase tickets to Friday's show, but had to get them on the secondary market for Saturday). So yes I'm rolling solo like a loser, but I don't care. Not one Iota. I'm pumped to take in London for a couple days and nights for the first time in like 20 years, and to see the band that played the first concert I ever attended back when I was a wee lad.

And I'll tell you the main reason I'm going.

Because I honest to God don't know, or think, that they will make it to August 28th in Chicago.

I will be devastated if I hold out and tell myself, I can just wait and catch them in Chicago and NYC in a couple months. Only to watch them get in a blowout two weeks into the tour and call everything off.

Editor's Note: I gotta stop Dante right here. This is the most negative, pessimistic blog I've ever read. Good lord. 6.5 shows? About to open up NateKings so I can take all Dante's action if he truly wants the under on this.

Laugh all you want, but it wouldn't be surprising in the least.

I would lose my mind, and regret for the rest of my life not getting my ass on a plane over to England to be a man of my word, and make sure I get to see them play together again, just in case it's short lived.

So that 6.5 shows, which is essentially 3 weekends of shows for them, and with the dealbreaker being homecoming weekend in Manchster, between Saturday July 19th and Sunday July 20th's shows.

Oddsmakers are too good man.

I'm leaning YES, because I want to think when they see the amount of money that starts pouring in (not just from ticket sales, but from the insane amounts of merch people buy at these shows today compared to the 90s and early 2000s, they will say, "fuck fighting, let's get paid", and ride it out.

PROP #4-

I'm going to go more into this in depth on Monday. But for now, let's say I'm taking "The Field" aka "Any other song".

PROP #5-

Absolutely yes. I am fairly certain that "Champagne Supernova" was crafted by Noel with the sole intention of being a show closer forever.

PROP #6-

See above.

PROP #7-

I will write more about this in Monday's blog, but I selfishly hope they do. I really want to hear some of the solo songs that you just know Noel wrote with Liam in mind, actually sung by Liam- "Dead in the Water". "Easy Now", and "The Death of You And Me" just for starters. But sadly, I'm going with NO on this.

PROP #8-

LOL.

PROP #9-

It's England. It's been almost 2 decades. I gotta think we're going to hear like 75% of Definitely Maybe and I couldn't be happier.

PROP #10-

If you've ever seen any Oasis live performance, than you know this one is as much of a lock as the "Wonderwall" prop. Liam, for what it's worth always does his thing, wraps his vocals, and then exits stage left/right while Noel and the band play their outro.

PROP #11-

This is a fun one. Damon Albarn coming out with his former arch-nemsees would be a wild sight to see. As would Paul McCartney. I don't think we get that lucky but I hope I'm wrong.

(Sidebar - I would have liked to see Chris Martin's name on this list. I think if there's anybody who actively reached out to the guys and offered to show up if they wanted him to, it's him. I'm pretty sure the happiest moment of his life was singing "Live Forever" with Liam in Manchester)

PROP #12-

I think Dave Grohl is as sure a bet to make an appearance as anybody. He's the biggest fan of them, has been openly speaking this reunion into existence for years, and has taken public shots from both the Gallaghers over time and still maintained his allegiance. You just know the brothers respect him for that. I'm going with Grohl on this one.

PROP #13-

I'm going with "The Masterplan" because I know we won't hear "Don't Look Back In Anger" probably until the encore, and I don't think "Talk Tonight" makes the set sadly.

Those are my picks.

Get yours in for the chance to win, only at Draft Kings.

Thank you to Robbie, Nate, and Colin for helping put together some of these props with me for Draft Kings.
