Hold Onto Your Butts, The Dicky Lovelady Era Has Officially Begun In Queens!!!

Did Stearns do it again or did Stearns do it again? 

I know we were all getting a little worried about the New York Metropolitans after they got swept by the Rays and beat up by two division rivals. However, swooning in June is the Old Mets. The New Mets spice things up this time of year, which means that Dicky Lovelady got the call up to the big club. During Pride Month no less! On Women's Night no less!

I don't have the foggiest clue about Dicky Lovelady's stats or talent or pretty much anything else other than his name. But after seeing the impossible season that was the 2024 Mets built around names like Seymour Weiner, Grimace, and Candelita, I have no choice but to believe that Dicky Lovelady is the trump card Stearns has been waiting to throw, regardless of if the Pitching Lab turns him into a good, great, or superstar reliever. Because that's just what this franchise has us doing these days. Blindly believing somehow good shit is going to happen, no matter how nonsensical it may seem.

It also goes without saying that I love seeing KFC's guy Janko back with the big league club. I love Acuña's energy, speed, and vibes. But the Mets need more consistent hitting if their pitchers aren't going to all continue having career years, as looks to be the case as the staff slowly turned to pumpkins over the last week.
