Summer Is Officially Here Now That We Have A New Video Of Ben Simmons Hitting Shots In An Empty Gym

Most folks consider Memorial Day Weekend to be the "unofficial official" start of summer. It's when people on the east coast start heading to the beaches on weekends. Or if you're in Chicago, you start to lay down on a slab of concrete next to a lake.

If you're a child, you think the start of summer is the last day of school. If you're a nerd, you think summer begins on the summer solstice which is June 21st or something.

But if you're a ball knower, you know that summer truly does not begin until we get our first video of Ben Simmons hitting shots in an empty gym. The moment the NBA Finals wrap up and the offseason is fully in swing, that's when his PR team goes to work to market a Ben Simmons comeback season on the horizon. That he's been finally about to turn the corner and actually improve his game. Empty gym, random dude passing him some balls, and an iPhone. Tale as old as time.

With that being said--I need the Sixers to bring back Ben Simmons. It feels like the organization needs some sort of healing right now. The Sixers are dog shit. Joel Embiid is currently being held together by bubble gum and shoestrings. The Oklahoma City Thunder just took "The Process" from Philly and won a championship with it. It seems like the Sixers are destined for at least 30 more years of misery. So maybe the only way to move forward is to go back. Bring back Ben Simmons for one last dance. The worst that'll happen is it'll be just as much of a wasted season as last year's was. Maybe a move like this will please the Basketball Gods and give the Sixers one more chance to not be the biggest losers in basketball. It's worth a shot. Maybe a Ben Simmons shot. But still a shot nevertheless.
