No Choice But To Declare Yanic Konan Niederhauser A Future Star After Watching Him Sprint From The Upper Level To The Stage As He Was Getting Drafted
I know it's not true upper level considering he's clearly in a box or suite here. But this is still a hike, all while running in a suit. We saw a few crowd exits last night:
Nothing tops Samuel Dalembert doing this back in 2001 and startling David Stern. He's the original guy to walk out of the stands or at least the most infamous one for me. But this is awesome. People will shit on Collin Murray-Boyles for the fuck after the Raptors drafted him or the Ace Bailey situation, so how do you not like this?
But the truth is all the greats who get drafted late first round/2nd round have some sort of draft tidbit. That or it's just the fact we're reminded about Nikola Jokic getting drafted during a Taco Bell commercial every 2-3 weeks. Anyone who had to ever wear a suit and be in a hurry knows this feeling too. It's not comfortable, you can't just move normally in a suit. Plus you can't be the sweaty guy on stage with Adam Silver.
All I know is this Draft was bizarre. You had guys coming out of the stands, the Nets drafting a million point guards, the Pelicans just trading away futures for no reason, hilariously stupid. But this guy is going to be a star. You don't go from averaging 7 points per game at Northern Illinois to Penn State and sprint from the upper level without it happening.
