Ohio State's Offensive Line Is Criminally Underrated In College Football 26
So my buddy from college, DJ, who once infamously took 2 Chick-Fil-A sandwiches from the New York office before others got one and felt the wrath of Dave Portnoy before he was laid off in the budget cuts, alerted me of this problem yesterday in our National Champs group chat. FYI, the group chat is called National Champs because Ohio State won the National Championship. Anyways, at first, I thought nothing of it. You know how those Ohio State fans can get sometimes. Biased to the core! But the more I've scrolled the timeline since the release of the game, the more I've realized it's not just a DJ problem. It's a worldwide problem.
What the fuck is going on here? I had to investigate. And folks, when I tell you my jaw dropped to the floor when the results of the investigation came back….
Here are the ratings of The Ohio State University's STARTING offensive line in the new College Football 26 video game:
Center: Carson Hinzman: 81
Right Guard: Tegra Tshabola: 80
Left Guard: Luke Montgomery: 78
Left Tackle: Ethan Onianwa: 85
Right Tackle: Austin Siereveld: 78
Now you guys know me well enough by now. I'm not an exaggerator. I'm not into hyperbole. I shoot you straight. And shooting the straightest arrow I possibly can, here is my take on those ratings: that should be a Federal Crime against EA Sports. Where do I begin? How about the fact we return 3 starters and a guy who rotated into the game in the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP? So they were good enough to beat Tennessee, Oregon, Texas, and Notre Dame….but you can't get them above an 81 on the fucking video game? The fact that Austin Siereveld is a 78 should be enough to have the entire rankings maker team fired. The man is going to be not just an All Big-10 lineman, he's going to the NFL as well. 78!!!
Look I'm not saying we have the fucking Philadelphia Eagles starting unit out there, but the line is much better than what they're giving us credit for. Which got me to looking into it further. Who else has EA Sports slighted with their ratings? Here's what I've learned and how I'd fix them:
- Julian Sayin: 85 (should be 92)
- James Peoples: 87 (should be 90)
- Jeremiah Smith: 99 (should be 100)
- Carnell Tate: 91 (should be 94)
- Brandon Inniss: 80 (should be 86)
- Mylan Graham: 78 (should be 86)
- Max Klare: 91 (should be 96)
- Ethan Onianwa: 85 (should be 87)
- Luke Montgomery: 78 (should be 85)
- Carson Hinzman: 81 (should be 90)
- Tegra Tshabola: 80 (should be 86)
- Austin Siereveld: 78 (should be 89)
- Kenyatta Jackson Jr.: 84 (should be 88)
- Beau Atkinson: 85 (should be 91)
- Eddrick Houston: 85 (should be 87)
- Kayden McDonald: 80 (should be 84)
- Arvell Reese: 85 (should be 87)
- Sonny Styles: 90 (should be 94)
- Davison Igbinosun: 90 (should be 94)
- Jermaine Mathews Jr.: 88 (should be 91)
- Caleb Downs: 96 (should be 100)
- Malik Hartford: 79 (should be 81)
- Lorenzo Styles Jr.: 79 (should be 82)
It's a shame the EA Sports Senior Producer is a Michigan man and won't give the team the respect they deserve. National Champions and an 88 overall? Please.
