Someone Is Lying: A 2026 Michigan Cornerback Commit Has Countered Jeremiah Smith's Guaranteed Victory With A Promise He Won't Lose Either To Ohio State

So last week, Jeremiah Smith broke the college football internet by promising that he will not lose to Michigan for the remainder of his time at Ohio State. And even as the biggest of Buckeye fans, I see why the statement was polarizing. How many Ohio State guys have made this promise over the last four years only to get a flag planted at the 50? So yeah, I get why Michigan fans are laughing this off, and I get why this fires up Ohio State fans for the end of November. I guess time will tell if Jeremiah Smith truly is the goat and savior, of if he's a liar.

....but breaking news: whether it's Jeremiah or not, THERE WILL BE A LIAR!

That's right folks, a kid still in high school that just committed to Michigan has also guaranteed he will not lose to Ohio State while he's there. And while that clock doesn't start until next season, Jeremiah Smith will still be on the Buckeyes. That means one of the two is lying (unless Harbaugh comes back and cries covid again and The Game isn't played).

Okay -- can I say something for a second? There's no one who eats, sleeps, and breathes the rivalry more than me, but this is fucking lame. This kid is from Georgia. He is in high school. He visited Ohio State and spoke very highly of them! But now in between Econ and Spanish class, he vowed to never lose to the rival! Buddy, you're not even on campus yet. You have no hatred of Ohio State and to be honest, it's not even a 100% guarantee you still go to Michigan. I'm going to laugh when this kid flips on signing day and promises never to lose to Florida.
