A Win For Hope - NCAA Committee Couldn't Decide About Expanding The Tournament This Season, Likely Because No One With A Brain Wants It

I'm considering this a win, for now. The fact that the committee met during its annual meeting and they couldn't agree on a plan 1) sums up how stupid this is and 2) at least delaying what nobody wants. No one with a brain wants expansion for the Tournament. It's not more basketball, it's not helping the sport. There isn't one sport that has gotten better because the playoffs expanded. It's pointless, it takes away from the regular season and even worse, it takes away from conference tournament week. I know, there's already a play-in event for these dogshit teams outside of the bubble. It's called conference tournaments.

I have yet to hear any case for expansion that makes sense. The fact we have 364 teams and keep adding teams isn't a reason to expand. We gotta stop letting teams make the jump to Division I, not to mention these teams aren't competing. You rarely get teams who make the jump win games. Not to mention, they are teams going to low-major conferences and have to win their conference tournament anyways to get in. Expansion doesn't help those teams.

You know who is likely going to get these expansion spots? The 11th place team in the Big 10 or some trash ACC team. No one wants this. You may get an extra MWC or MVC team from time to time, sure, but that's not worth ruining the greatest event in sports. Getting 4 extra games on Tuesday/Wednesday or whatever isn't worth making games count less from November to March. Either you're right or you're an idiot in this situation, you pick.
