A Friendly Reminder That We Are All Getting Old: Rob Ezell, Who Once Did A Viral Nick Saban Impression, Is Now The Offensive Coordinator At Wake Forest

AL.com- South Alabama offensive coordinator Rob Ezell is leaving to take a similar position at Wake Forest, head coach Major Applewhite confirmed to AL.com.

Ezell has been on the Jaguars’ staff since 2021, working as tight ends coach for three seasons before moving up to offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach this past season when Applewhite took over as head coach. South Alabama was among the top offensive teams in the Sun Belt Conference in 2024, averaging 34.4 points and 441.8 yards per game.

Man... internet years fly. 2010 feels not that long ago, just 1 year after I graduated college yet it's been a very long time in real life. A very long time. That rings true again today when we get the friendly reminder that Rob Ezell's video which feels very recent(maybe because it always keeps getting recycled on social), is so old that he's gone onto be a coach himself. Time flies. 

I know there's probably assholes reading this saying "that's how time works" and yes I get that but I also feel like we can all be a little sad when someone or something hits an anniversary and you say "shit it's been that long" and internet specific things feel even crazier when they hit an anniversary because it always feels like things on the internet were never that long ago. I still genuinely can't believe it's been 15 years since this video.
