We Need To Rebel Against Stores Putting Out School Supply Displays So Early In The Summer

I am aware this is a joke and maybe even an unfunny joke that a school would ask for bus tires as a school supply but it's not our of the ordinary for schools to ask for things that cause MASSIVE amounts of stress in a household. I have very vivid memories of a letter coming to the house in summer and my Dad screaming "CLEAR FUCKING CONTACT PAPER WHAT THE FUCK?" and my mother saying "Shhh don't talk like that in the house." Clear Contact Paper was of course to cover your workbooks which were super flimsy. Why we HAD to cover them in clear contact paper I'll never understand.

But that was the gold medal for ridiculous things we had to get for school supplies. Others that never made sense was having to bring in printer paper, why wasn't that in the catholic school budgets? The fact that we had to find obscure things is only part of the problem. The MASSIVE problem we have in this country is the fact of when they roll out school supplies in stores.

Do you realize that big box stores switched over their summer gazebos, deck boxes and furniture displays to school supplies, back packs, and calculators by THE FOURTH OF FUCKING JULY ! That's disgusting. We're talking about kids here man, summers for them are gold, and you only get so many of true freedom before you get old, have to work and a night of fun in the summer becomes a pick up basketball game in Berlin,CT. These kids deserve to go to the store (top 5 worst activity as a kid was your parents saying 'we gotta go to the store') and not their dreams crushed of waterparks, pools, riding bikes, stickball and freedom by a stack of folders and magic markers.

Stop putting these displays up until at least August 15th. It's not like you can't find the stuff in regular aisles if you want to get it before then, just don't shove it down our throats so early. It sucks for everyone.
