Good Strategy To Get What You Want - James Cook Keeps Repeating 'Business' When Asked About Not Practicing And His Contract

Seems like every team now has some sort of hold in player and contract dispute so it's not like James Cook is the first or last one to be doing this. But, I respect the hell out of James Cook for going the Marshawn Lynch way. Anyone can hold-in, say they want a fair contract, whatever it might be. It takes a special kind of strategy to just repeat business over and over again. It's the new 'I'm just here so I don't get fined' which is very true for basically every hold-in. You're at practice, just not practicing so you save some money. Smart business if we're being honest.

At least there. It's not smart business to try and do this as a running back when the Bills drafted Ray Davis a year ago who had plenty of looks of being a guy that could start at some point. Not to mention you start to risk pissing off a front office. They are in communication which is important, but all it takes is one pissed off GM and you're looking at a trade or not getting the deal you want.

Even better is the Bills are on Hard Knocks. We need this to be a focus point of one episode because the business side of it all is way more fascinating than anything else. There's a reason the Giants offseason Hard Knocks last year was the best one they've had in years. I want to see the decisions and how negotiations go on during something like this.

Business. Perfect answer to everything.
