The Jewish Jordan: Teenager Chaim Galbut Is Dominating High School Camps and Dunking All Over Everybody
I'm going to be upfront about this... I'm finding shockingly little concrete information about Chaim Galbut. But there sure are a shit load of social media mixtapes captioned with vague claims like, "Best Jewish Hooper in America!", "Chaim Galbut is Turning Heads!", "Chaim Galbut Is The Truth. College Coaches Are Clammering To Him!"
The lack of recruiting information I'm finding leads me to believe college coaches might not quite be "clamoring" to this kid. What exactly Chaim Galbut's college prospects are (or if he plans to play college basketball at all), I have no idea. But based on his highlights, his 6-foot-7 frame, and the incredibly impressive numbers he's been putting up at various basketball camps, he sure seems like a D1-level talent. I don't know if he's a favorite to lead Tulane to a National Championship. But if you told me my alma mater Bowling Green State University was going to sign Chaim Galbut... to be able to cheer for a yarmulke wearing basketball player... considering the potential for him to the become the face of March Madness with a big first round upset... I'd be pretty fired up to have Chaim on my squad.
The kid barely has a MaxPreps profile. He appears to have graduated this year in 2025. I'm seeing him listed elsewhere in class of 2026. But according to an Instagram account that's seemingly dedicated to Israeli basketball player Deni Avdija (@deniavdijaszn), Chaim Galbut is planning to spend next year out of the United States studying the Torah.

For the record, that Instagram account tags @cbalbut0312 at the end of that post, which is an Instagram account that does not exist. Maybe Chaim used to have one. Maybe that quote is bullshit. I don't see evidence of it anywhere else. I'm just trying to lay out any potential information I can find on the kid, because after seeing his highlights, I desperately want to see a basketball player dominate in a yarmulke at the highest possible level.
Imagine the noise Chaim Galbut would make leading a team on a Cinderella-type run in the NCAA Tournament. Imagine the nicknames people would come up with. I'm already seeing the likes of Jewper Flagg, Shekel O'Neal, Victor Wembanyarmulke, the possibilities are endless. He would take the college basketball world by storm.
Regardless of what he ends up doing with his life, people will be telling stories of Chaim Galbut for years to come. You already know exactly how the stories from kids who played against him in high school would go. How they were all making fun of the kid playing basketball in a yarmulke, then he went on to drop 30 points and turn every player on the team into their own personal poster.
