The Cowboys Are Now Getting the Joe Milton Experience, With Reports From Training Camp That He Looks Unbelievable
I love this so much. Joe Milton should be required to be on a new team every season so we get this from a new fanbase annually. There is nothing like the bewilderment in fans' and reporters' eyes watching a Joe Milton practice for the first time. It's something you'll never forget.
Now, will this ever translate into NFL games? I would surmise likely not, but that's the thing about Bazooka Joe: you see throws like this on the practice field and you're never able to get them out of your mind. He could get pressed into action in a game and throw three picks, but you'll still think back to those throws in August.
Hell, I'm guilty of it. I have watched Milton play a full season of competitive football for my favorite team and even after doing so, I see people hyping him up again and think, "Well, he does have the best arm in the League. Maybe this time will be different!"
And just to be clear, I hope more than anything Joe gets a chance to start in the NFL and kills it. In addition to being an awesome guy, he has the potential to be the most electric player in football. I also respect the hell out of him for having his job taken from him by Hendon Hooker in 2021 and staying at Tennessee knowing he'd be a backup the following season before hopefully getting a chance to start in 2023.
It's just funny to watch a third fanbase in as many seasons go through each phase of the Joe Milton Experience from scratch.
I wish Joe nothing but the best. At some point, the guy with a rocket launcher attached to his torso has to break through. Maybe this year really is the one.
