Jurickson Profar Made the Catch of the Year in Baseball, Football and Any Other Sport Where You Can Catch a Ball

With the Braves' season in the toilet, all we really have to watch for the rest of the season is Drake Baldwin hopefully winning Rookie of the Year and monitoring Jurickson Profar's status coming back from his suspension to hopefully be a contributor in 2026 and beyond. And his offense has been trending in the right direction, but you're not going to see a better defensive play on a baseball diamond this season than that catch to rob Augustin Ramirez of a home run. Holy smokes.

Profar times the jump perfectly and still had to fully extend his arm to the point that he nearly went completely over the wall and somehow came down with the ball. What a play.

I'd much rather have a competent team that was playing meaningful games in August, but at this point I'll settle for Baldwin ROY to get a competitive balance round pick in next year's MLB Draft — to potentially pair with the No. 1 overall pick — and Profar rounding back into his 2024 form so we can go into next season with some reasonable optimism.
