Watch: Paige Bueckers Goes NUCLEAR Setting The WNBA Rookie Record With 44 Points On 80% Shooting. Is She Already Better Than Caitlin Clark?

It's been a long 2 weeks without any WNBA blogs on this website. So I'm gonna do my best to provide you some #SPORTS updates here. For the real hoopers.

But truthfully aside from #DildoGate there really hasn't been that much action in The W lately. Guess that's how the cookie crumbles when your most exciting player gets hurt on purpose by opposing teams and forced to rehab since July 15th.

Angel Reese is still deep in her bag though!

But real talk, is Caitlin Clark even gonna return before the playoffs start? Starting to look kinda grim for Indiana/the entire league. Putting together an Air McNair-esque injury history before your 2nd year ends probably isn't a good thing. Hate to see it.

With CC out of commission, it's been up to this years #1 overall pick to keep things interesting. And last night Paige Bueckers did that in SPADES, on a historic level for either league. They don't call her Paige Buckets for nothing!

One of her other nicknames is "The Middy Princess" and it's easy to see why. Just killer footwork and patience for a rookie. Pretty insane for a 1st year player to have moves that smooth and be able to use every inch of the court to their advantage this early in their career.

Aside from it being an extremely efficient performance, felt like a vintage Kobe night.

And just like Kobe did many times with Kwame Brown, her team took the L thanks to a buzzer beater from Kelsey Plum. Bummer for Paige but I'm glad Cameron Brink is smiling.

With the Wings officially eliminated from playoff contention and setting their sights on the WNBA Draft Lottery, it's gonna be an interesting few months in Dallas figuring out their pick.

They're pretty likely to land inside the Top 3 but if they somehow get #1 overall again… Are they gonna draft Lauren Betts, a 6'7'' center averaging 24/11/3/3… Or will they take Azzi Fudd, one of the best pure shooters in college history and also Paige's former UConn teammate/current WAG girlfriend. What a world!

Can't see the Wings passing on that natural chemistry and having their backcourt covered for the next decade. If they end up not picking Azzi I would forewarn their front office… Paige can and WILL throw hands with the best of em.

Good luck to Dallas deciding that Sophie's Choice and to the rest of the league figuring out how to slow down Paige the rest of her career. She's gonna be an absolute monster once her team fills out. As a Liberty fan, I'm terrified.

But Aubrey Plaza will help keep the vibes high until then. Huge, quickly.
