The Tampa Bay Buccaneers Prove They Are The Most Anti-Unit Team In Football By Releasing Desmond Watson

Here's the issue with Desmond Watson--he's playing on the wrong side of the ball. He's 6'5", 450 lbs. He's arguably the best deal in football. You can get 2 offensive linemen for the price of one if you sign Desmond Watson. If you want to protect your quarterback--who is typically the biggest investment on every roster--then here's a unit who can provide the ultimate cover for him. The only way opposing defenses would be able to get to the quarterback is if they came from the sideline.

The fact that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have released Desmond Watson isn't as much of an indictment on Watson not being able to lose weight, as it is an indictment that Tampa couldn't figure out how to utitlize the heaviest man in football. If you put him on the Philadelphia Eagles, then he'd be the perfect project. Jeff Stoutland would turn him into an All-Pro offensive lineman by year 3.

Tampa didn't want to put in the work. They didn't want to take on a project. They just hoped that fat shaming would do the trick, which is clearly did not.

I do find it interesting how the Bucs released the heaviest player in the league, but seem to be keeping the lightest player in the league.

Makes you start to question if they just hate big boys. It's not like they've been holding Tez Johnson out of practice until he packs on some pounds. In the sake of fairness, they should have locked him in the cafeteria every day with ice cream and cheeseburgers until he gets to an appropriate playing weight. But I guess they only wanted to set the big fella up for failure.

At least we know who to root against this coming NFL season. For anyone out there who is still trying to get rid of a little baby fat 30+ years into your life, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are the enemy. Can't wait for the Eagles to hang 50 on them.
