Ohio State Fans Demanded The #1 Ranking, But Ryan Day Says It's Just A Giant Bullseye On The Buckeyes Back Now

So Ohio State fans damn near rioted after the SEC propaganda machine at ESPN tried to diminish their win over #1 ranked Texas in Week 1, citing that LSU should be the new #1 team in the country heading into Week 2. I'll admit it: I got worked up. How you can possibly determine that Ohio State, who won the National Championship last season, brought back both the best offensive player in the country in Jeremiah Smith and the best defensive player in the country in Caleb Downs, and then dominated Arch Manning and Texas from start to finish in their first game.....deserved anything other than the #1 spot in the rankings is beyond me. But alas, all that whining was for not, as the Buckeyes reigned supreme in this week's poll:

All is right in the world (although I must admit I'd have loved to be able to bitch until I'm blue in the face about the unrighteous voters if they'd had put us at 2 or 3). But one person who didn't rejoice in the new little #1 next to Ohio State as we play on Saturdays is the head man himself, Coach Ryan Day.

I hear you, Coach. The wolf on top of the mountain is never as hungry as the one climbing it. It would be real easy to keep a chip on these boys shoulders after they nearly blanked Texas if the AP Voters didn't respect it, but credit goes where credit is due here, and that's to the Buckeyes.

Next up for properly ranked #1 team in the country, the UNDEFEATED Grambling State Tigers, although apparently their head coach is already waving the white flag:

Rat poison! Don't let him fool you, Coach Day. They're coming in here trying to keep it within 50 points, no doubt about it. Don't let em.
