"There is a ZERO Percent Chance Justin Herbert Outplays Patrick Mahomes" - Nick Wright
Lets go through it bar for bar.
[On if the Chargers could beat the Chiefs with Justin Herbert] "Well, you want me to say 'Well, anythings possible' but he's literally never done it".
September 26, 2021. Chargers beat the Chiefs in Arrowhead 30-24. Herbert is 26/38, 297 total yards and 4 touchdowns in his second career matchup vs Mahomes.
[On if Mahomes has had the better supporting cast for his career] "On offense! He has not had the better defense!
To start Herbert's career, the Chargers gave up the most points in league history over a 3 year span.
[When pushed back on the Chief's defense being great over the last couple years] "The last two years, he has had the better defense, but he has not had the better supporting cast on offense!"
The Chiefs had three first-team All-pro players on their offense live last year. The Chargers had one PERIOD (Derwin James, 2nd team) Even if your receivers suck, any decent QB is gonna make it to work with a lot of time to throw. And, in case you forgot, Mahomes is the best QB in the league. Lets just go depth chart for depth chart.

[On the "problem" with Herbert truthers] "Every year you have gone into the season talking about how good the Chargers are. About Derwin James or Keenan Allen and Mike Williams when he had them. Or Khalil Mack, Joey Bosa, all of this about how dangerous the Chargers are. And then they underachieve and, at the end of the year, it's just the coach or the injuries or actually the players weren't that good. And so my answer is, on a neutral field with a chip on his shoulder, Patrick Mahomes, he's not getting outplayed who's had eight chances to outplay him and has never done it.
This is actually one of the least ball-knower statements of them all. First off is the roster talk. Only non-ball knowers were looking at those names and equating it with a good roster. All Chargers fans knew Bosa would play a few good games and get hurt (He's played one full season in the last 5 years). Mike Williams and Keenan would be great when on the field (Look at 2021, when Herbert had 5,300 yards and 41 TDs in the only year they both stayed healthy) but take turns bouncing on-and-off the IR. Derwin and Khalil have both been solid and will always make plays but the rest of that defense had been TERRIBLE for years. Lastly, Herbert has outplayed Mahomes. Although I guess it wasn't a neutral field. It was Arrowhead.
[On Mahomes 2023 season opener] "…when it was week 1 of a 20-week open revolt by his receivers against him…Kadarius Toney popped the ball into Brian Branch's hands who then raced for a touchdown".
Tough one for Wright. He'll go and take a victory lap when the Chiefs inevitably win the AFC West but, for now, time to eat some crow.
