Fran Brown Made Syracuse Run Sprints on the Field After Beating UConn in Overtime

Syracuse struggled with UConn all day, but found a way to get to overtime and eventually escaped with its first win of the season. That still wasn't good enough for head coach Fran Brown, though, who had the Orange running sprints on the field postgame after a nearly four-hour dogfight.

I'm all for creating a disciplined culture, but this seems a little performative from Brown. Even if you take your team back to the facility and do this there — which would still be a bit insane — at least then it's not such a massive look at me move. Maybe wanting everyone to see this was part of the punishment, I guess.

The good news is Syracuse gets to work on what needs to be corrected this week after a win rather than a home loss to UConn to fall to 0-2. Hopefully Brown lets his team out of the stadium before the night slate of games is over.
