COLTS WIN IN WEEK 1! Daniel Jones Has Broken The Curse! For The First Time Since 2013, The Indianapolis Colts Are 1-0

For the first time since 2013, the Indianapolis Colts are a 1-0 football team. And we've had some pretty damn good Colts teams during that stretch of time too. We literally hung banners.

But at no point, for the life of them, could those Colts' teams win a Week 1 football game. So it only makes perfect NFL sense that a Colts team who our fan base has probably the most down on out of any Colts team during that stretch… a Colts team featuring Daniel Fucking Jones as QB1…  who would break the curse.

Thank you Daniel Jones. I never once doubted him. I most certainly did not contemplate taking a year off from Colts fandom entirely because I was so disgusted in GM Chris Ballard thinking Daniel Jones was the answer to our QB problem. Who knows how the Daniel Jones experiment will play out in the end, but for at least Week 1, it appears Chris Ballard and Shane Steichen have made the right decision.

It's hard to question any decision made by any coach in any facet of the game when you win 33-8. Jonathan Taylor looked perfectly spry and healthy. Never in a million years when I drafted him in fantasy did I think my Jonathan Taylor problem would be that the Colts are up by too many points late in the game, and would want to get DJ Giddens some touches. Or what might prove to be FAR more detrimental to Jonathan Taylor fantasy owners, the fact that the Daniel Jones QB sneak appears to be Tush Push levels of effective.

It's been so long since we had a QB who's able to make the easy, consistent throws, that I almost forgot how insanely rock sold our receiving crew is. There's nobody too sexy. Nobody really leaps off the page at you individually. But Michael Pittman, Alec Piece, and Josh Downs (along with Adonai Mitchell still realizing his potential) are as reliable as they come.

Add Tyler Warren on top of that, who was everything the Colts wanted him to be in a TE. Which is always open for easy short gains.

And equally as effective making tough catches downfield.

On the other side of the ball, the defense made turnovers happen. They nearly held the Dolphins to under 200 yards. Zero compalints there.

And it all adds up to the Colts new owner (RIP Jim), being 1-0.

What a game. Colts are 1-0 for the first time since I was in college. Thank god Russell Wilson wasn't interested in Indianapolis. The Daniel Jones Experiment could not be off to a better start.
