Michel Penix Appeared To Be the Antidote to the Falcons' Propensity To Invent Ways To Lose, But Even His Heroics Couldn't Prevent Another Collapse
At this moment, I thought we had something different. As a matter of fact, I was sure of it. But even Michael Penix, who seems like he's going to be a very good NFL quarterback, couldn't save the Falcons from themselves.
The Bucs went right down the field and scored a touchdown, which was predictable enough. That would have just been the run of the mill Falcons script.
It was what happened next that raised this loss to the art form Atlanta usually produces.
The Bucs missed the extra point, meaning the Falcons only needed a field goal to go to overtime. Penix, being the dog that he is, led Atlanta down the field in record time and had his team in field goal range with time to spare to take a couple shots to the end zone. The first was broken up by Antoine Winfield Jr. before Penix dropped one in a bucket to KhaDarel Hodge, who simply didn't seem interested in catching the game-winning touchdown. I guess he figured he'll just get 'em next week.

I mean, what in the actual fuck?
And as was written in the stars, Younghoe Koo stepped up to send the game to overtime and instead sent the kick far right. That's not even his fault, that was always going to happen.
What a crock of shit.
