The Early Returns On Micah Parsons As A Packer Are Incredible - Green Bay Completely Shuts Down The Lions Offense

There were some great performances across the board today in the NFL whether it be Daniel Jones, Aaron Rodgers, or someone like Emeka Egbuka. Maybe near the top of the whole league is the Packers defensive unit who just put on a fucking clinic against the prolific Lions weapons to get Green Bay a fairly comfortable win. From start to finish they caused major problems for Goff, Gibbs, and the rest of the Detroit offense.

How about winning the sack battle 4-0? Obviously great to generate a real pass rush, but also on the flip side the Packers o-line held their own and then some to keep Love clean.

Actual pressure on a quarterback was a welcome sight to see.

This 3 and out to start the 4th quarter was beautiful. What a stand this was.

They wouldn't let anything through.

And of course, the icing on the cake was Micah getting his first sack as a Packer. The energy from the fans anytime he was on the field was immaculate. You could just feel he was gonna break through at some point and get that first sack.

Yeah, I love this guy. What a nightmare it's gotta be to try and stop him. Just a relentless monster with one mission —murder the guy with the ball.

Parsons comes out of this game with "just" the one sack, but his impact was much bigger. The attention this dude draws anytime he's on the field makes life so much easier for people like LVN or Gary. Even guys like Wooden and Wyatt thrived as run stuffers in the middle, totally limiting Gibbs and Montgomery. Parsons presence could be felt everywhere.

As the tweet says, Parsons played basically 50% of the snaps as they ease him in from a training camp he didn't participate in. This was just the taste and boy was it special. I can't believe he's in Green Bay and under contract for the next four years at the age of 26. Two first rounders that are going to be at the back end of the round? An older, expensive Kenny Clark? Worth every penny so far. Micah Parsons transforms this defense. What a statement this team made to start the season. Love was great, Jacobs did his thing, all the receivers got involved, but man that defense stole the show. Short week coming up against Washington in what should be a great game.

Awesome start. 1-0.
