Mauricio Pochettino Begging US Fans To Show Up To Matches After Getting Our Ass Kicked (Again) Is Why We’ll Never Be A Serious Soccer Country

We cannot let this slide just because every person in the country was watching football during this match. Another match where the US got its ass kicked by a decent team, continuing to spiral and hit rock bottom and we got Pochettino begging for US fans to show up to matches? I don’t know buddy, maybe put out a team who competes and don’t even get me started on ticket prices. Why would any of us with a brain shell out that sort of money to watch a team that looks like it doesn’t even want to be out there.

That’s really what it comes down to. This is the most talented team we’ve had. But they don’t have the heart factor that made other US teams fun to watch. We used to know that guys like a Clint Dempsey would go nuts on that field or a Brian McBride would throw his head into any cross in the box and walk away bleeding if he had to.

We are 10 months away from hosting the World Cup, with a team that had expectations to at least compete here. Now? Now we’re talking about Poch being a phony and how this team wouldn’t qualify for a World Cup. Good times!

Don’t get me wrong there are plenty of problems with US Soccer. It went from being a sport anyone could play to an expensive sport and the federation is a disaster. The last thing anyone should be doing right now is begging for more fan support. You had a chance to win people over and you choked away Copa America. You choked away Nations League. You lost every big match.

Pochettino knows there’s not much time before the World Cup.

A big time no shit comment. So why don’t we figure out a way to actually get a real team together? When’s the last time we saw a squad put together who you can say will play in the World Cup. It’s why we still have Tim Ream out there, no answers at goalie and a question mark up top. We don’t even have a system that works. Another embarrassing day for US Soccer and no sign of hope.
