'They Can Talk About The Bullshit' - Instead Of Worrying About Winning, Mauricio Pochettino Is Complaining That Too Many People Are Criticizing US Soccer

[Source] - When asked for an update on the fitness of defender Chris Richards, who came off the bench against South Korea on the weekend, Pochettino began his assault. "People sometimes create debate and talk with no sense," Pochettino said. "This national team and this country has qualified already for the World Cup, so the important thing is to apply common sense. If people want to talk about bullsh*t, they can talk about bullsh*t, but we feel the responsibility to provide the whole group of players ... we need to give the priority for how he feels. Because if not, if we take a risk in a friendly game, we maybe create a big problem.

"Sometimes people want to talk only to analyze the result and want to be negative, and I think it's a little bit shameful. We need to be positive, because we need to be all together, because the country deserves to be on one side to arrive at the World Cup in the best condition to be a team competitive to make proud our fans. That is the most important thing."

Goddamnit man. Why? Why can't we just have one normal day without this sort of shit.

I've said it before but I care far too much about the US Soccer Team. It's something I just will always care for and be a diehard fan of. That said, you can't claim this team qualified for the World Cup when we auto-qualified because we're hosting it! We're not complaining just to complain, it's not a bunch of bullshit. We want to see some sort of development and wins. If this team had any sort of success after the last World Cup, we wouldn't be as loud as we are. It's the fact that you lost the Nations League or the fact that we haven't beaten a decent team since Iran at the World Cup. If you have something to back yourself on, you have the right to call out people criticizing the team.

No one is saying you shouldn't be trying out different players, the problem is we don't know what players are expected to be built around right now. Sure, we know Pulisic and Richards and Antonee Robinson. Other than that? I'd throw in Tyler Adams and maybe McKennie. We don't have these sort of guys to lock in as cornerstones anymore. That's what we can bitch about. We should have a sense of who is going to be starting if everyone is healthy.

You want to know the real problem? It's this.

Yeah, that team wasn't 'awesome' in the sense of all this individual talent, but they played their balls off. Every game was nuts on the ground, flying around and if it wasn't for a bullshit no handball call, we might be talking about the US in the World Cup Final in 2002. That was the team that made me fall in love with this team too. You had the run to the quarterfinals, you had a young Landon Donovan, Clint Mathis, Pablo Masteroni, Claudio Reyna, Brian McBride and a young DeMarcus Beasley. We need to get back to that. Stop complaining that we're complaining and win some goddamn games.
