The Night Mauricio Pochettino Desperately Needed - Dominated Japan, Learned That Winning In This Country Will Shut Up Everyone Who Is Complaining

There's been a lot of complaining from Pochettino and towards Pochettino. Impossible for that not to happen when we've lost basically every big game, the casual fan will yell after every loss, the diehard fans want to see something new. Pochettino was arguing with fans about showing up, anyone who criticized the team and then last night happened. It was the night that he needed. It was the night that the entire team needed to be honest. We finally looked like a team that should be winning these sort of games and why people had expectations after the 2022 World Cup loss to Netherlands.

It started with this goal:

Arfsten to Zendajas isn't something most fans are used to seeing, but whatever, that was fucking beautiful. Those are the goals and creativity that we've been missing. Also why we should play every international game in Ohio. We're unbelievable when we play in either Columbus or Cincinnati. Stop playing all over the country, just make Ohio our home state and we will win 2-0 nearly every time. Quick break for the dos a cero in Ohio that started it all:

I brought up dos a cero because, well, we did it again

An absolute perfect run and pass by Pulisic and a great finish by Balogun. That's a goal that matters because I think Balogun should be our top option at the 9. It's basically him or Pepi fighting for it but Balogun feels like the first option for now and that goal should give him the first chance in the October window.

This match also mattered because Pochettino basically said this is the last window before he starts to make cuts, essentially. We have the October window and that will show who he's looking at for the World Cup roster. Pretty safe to say you have Pulisic, Adams, Richards, Antonee Robinson as locks. I mentioned Balogun and then you have a bunch of names there. Personally? I want to see Alex Freeman get more run. I know he's an MLS guy, but he provides something different, plus he's a former NFL'ers son. That has to mean something, right? I don't think he's a starter by any means, but he's pretty consistent, has the athleticism, bring him up and let him get some more time. More importantly, just keep going with the 3 in the back. It's the best we've looked, it's what makes the most sense.

Pochettino finally learned the American way. Win and everyone will shut up.
