'I Know If I Don't Make Kicks, I'll Be Out Of Here' - Eddy Pineiro Was Brought In To Help Fix The 49ers, Promptly Became The Most Self-Aware NFL Kicker

It's a slow day in the sports world right now. Not a lot going on, but I see a lot about the 49ers kicker. Hard to blame him considering this was Kyle Shanahan with his last kicker:

Or the fact that Shanahan basically admitted he felt bullied to keep Moody a little longer

I've said it before but I'm fascinated by big time kickers. They live a different life in the world of professional football players. We've heard the jokes about them not practicing, not getting hit, basically just out there for a few minutes to get their kicks up. But, with the game on the line, it comes down to that leg. It comes down to making a field goal and if they miss, everyone is ready to move on. It's rare to see a guy stick with one team as a kicker for an extended period of time. It seems like kickers play for 4-5 teams at a minimum during their career. Can't say he doesn't understand winning culture

Nothing like a good ricochet shot like the Falcons caught here. Hard to argue though, you hear Falcons you think 28-3. That's it. Maybe the Dirty Bird if you're old enough, but it's 28-3. All I know is Pineiro might understand life as an NFL kicker as good as anyone. Wouldn't be surprised on his first miss if 49ers fans are ready to run him out of town.
