Ole Miss QB Trinidad Chambliss Has Struck Lightning In A Bottle!

What an absolutely wild development has gone down in Oxford, Mississippi the last 2 weeks!

After starting QB Austin Simmons went down in the 4th quarter at Kentucky with a sprained ankle, backup Trinidad Chambliss has seized the day and sent the Rebel fanbase into orbit.

All the Division 2 National Champion has done is throw for 660 yards and ran for 172 with 5 combined touchdowns against Arkansas and Tulane!

A bunch of really good QBs have played for Ole Miss through the years from Eli Manning to Bo Wallace to Chad Kelly to Matt Corral & Jaxson Dart.

But none of them can run like Chambliss. He's lightning in a bottle when he takes off from the pocket and reminds me of Kyler Murray even from his Oklahoma days.

Chambliss also gets to his 3rd & 4th reads, throws a good deep ball and has ZERO turnovers in his 2 starts!

A year ago, Chambliss was the backup at Ferris State before a week 2 injury derailed the starter. Life comes fast......

And now he gets the ball in the first undefeated LSU/Ole Miss showdown since Billy Cannon ran back the punt on Halloween night in Death Valley in 1959.

Without a doubt, this is the real test. Arkansas and Tulane are not bad teams but neither has a defense like the Tigers. LSU forced a whopping FIVE DJ Lagway INTs against Florida and shut Clemson out on the road in the 2nd half of a 17-10 win.

LSU fixed their defense this offseason by spending big in the transfer portal landing All Big 12 Safety AJ Haulcey (Houston), DE Patrick Payton (Florida St), two corners from Viriginia Tech & Florida and a big run stopper from Virginia Tech.

Can Chambliss lead the Rebs to a monumental win on Saturday at 2:30pm in front of a bonkers sold out crowd in Oxford?!?!?

Who the hell knows when these two teams get together what will happen? The last two games have been two of the best college football games recent seasons (Ole Miss 55-49 2023, LSU 26-23 OT 2024).

Home field advantage has been MASSIVE in the Magnolia Bowl rivalry with Ole Miss not winning in Baton Rouge since 2008 but winning 4 of the last 6 in Oxford.

DraftKings has Ole Miss as a slight favorite at home and the game feels like basically a toss up.

If the Rebs win this game, it is hard to fathom it not being Chambliss job the rest of the season. (Ole Miss has a bye next week to evaluate).

LSU/Ole Miss is ALWAYS my favorite week of the year! And I cannot wait to be rockin' in the Vaught on Saturday! This is my 23rd LSU/Ole Miss game in the last 26 years to attend.

Go to Hell LSU!!!!! Hotty Toddy!
