An Alabama High School Turned a Game-Winning 2-Point Conversion Into a Hail Mary and Somehow Still Got It

There is nobody happier in the world this morning than the center from Mountain Brook High School in Mountain Brook, Alabama — home of Courteney Cox, fun fact. This poor kid was about to be the talk of the town — not in the way you want — for the rest of the season, but then his quarterback and wide receiver made the play of the season to walk off with the win in overtime.

It doesn't even look like the snap was bad, there was just a miscommunication and the QB didn't know it was coming. It would have been a terribly unfortunate way to lose, but the Spartans just ran back, picked up the ball and said they'd do it from the 40-yard line if that's what it takes. What a play.

It helps that there were five or six defenders who didn't really know what they should be doing once the snap went flying past the QB and they just sort of hung out in no man's land for the rest of the play. Those receivers should have been blanketed by the time that ball got there and instead it was 2-on-2.

I know the Mountain Brook Milo's Hamburgers location was an absolute movie after this.
