In Embarrassing Fashion, The Packers Defense Played Themselves Into a Tie And Ruined a Great Jordan Love Performance On SNF Against The Cowboys

There are so many weird thoughts about a football game coming out of a tie, let's rattle off a few. Hey at least we didn't lose to the Cowboys? How the fuck did we almost lose to the Cowboys with how shitty their defense is? Is the Packers defense an issue again? Romeo Doubs, I love you? Not really a question, but the fact that he was kinda on the trade block prior to the Jayden Reed injury is nuts, no? Can anything possible happen in or outside football to make the Packers special teams competent? I'm not even talking good, just make them respectable. Zach Tom, I miss you. Also, Jordan Love is pretty fucking good, huh? What more do you want from the guy?
As for Matt LaFleur? What the fuck was that end of the first half? You've got no timeouts, 20 seconds left, and a banged up offensive line. Bro, go to half time with the mother fucking lead. And holy fuck, that end of the game spot in OT. Did he know the Packers could win the game with a touchdown? Wanna talk about playing for the tie with no plan about anything else? Fucking brutal. I go back and forth on the guy, but when it comes down to it he's pretty brutal in close situations.
The bulk of this game goes on the defense, however. Micah put it nicely here.
Speaking of Micah, thanks for saving the game.
Overall, I guess it's fine to get out of Jerry World without a loss when you give up 40. Still feels gross, and may come back to bite them later in the year. The defense as a whole took a step back tonight. Nate Hobbs and X were no shows. The pass rush was non-existent. I don't know man, that wasn't what I expected tonight. Had a feeling the game would be close, but not THAT close. Early bye week now to rest up and get back online. 2-1-1, I don't even know if that's good. Ties should be illegal.
