'Keep My Name Out Of Your Fucking Mouth' - Liam Coen And Robert Saleh Wanted To Come To Blows Over Sign-Stealing Allegations, Need More Coach Fights In The NFL
[Source] - In a video by Action Sports Jax, Coen can be heard shouting, "Keep my name out of your mouth. Keep my name out of your f---ing mouth," to which Saleh replies in part, "I will f--- your world up.
"I'm actually excited that he kind of kept his composure throughout the game," Hines-Allen said. "And then, at the last minute, 'Hey, do what you've got to do.'"
Saleh first mentioned that the Jaguars are good at signal stealing during his weekly news conference Thursday, when he was asked about the biggest challenge that Coen's offense presents. Saleh repeatedly said what the Jaguars do is legal, but offered more detail on Jacksonville's approach.
"They've got, legally, a really advance signal-stealing type of system where they always find a way to put themselves in an advantageous situation," Saleh said Thursday. "They do a great job with it."
Oh hell yeah, there's nothing that gets me going like a good coach fight. You throw in sign-stealing allegations and reciting that Will Smith/Chris Rock bit and you're really doing it right. Now do I think Liam Coen would actually fight Robert Saleh? Uhh, no.
Now, do I probably lied a bit about coming to blows, but this is a good coaching dust up. You get to yell, hold me back, and then talk about it in the press conference. I think we need more coach fights in the NFL. We got too many pretty boys as coaches, gotta be willing to mix it up a bit like back in the day. I'm not saying every game needs a brawl, but give me some animosity. Give me sign-stealing allegations and then fighting about it in the postgame.
It's always hilarious when we bring in something like this. It's such an incredible backhanded compliment from Saleh about how the Jags are great at legal sign-stealing. I've never seen someone to be so rattled by the Jaguars, but this is the new era with Liam Coen. They also know wrestling is everywhere and to lean into being a heel or face with the ownership.
I still think the funniest part of this whole saga are the beefy dudes from the Jags just laughing about it all. They probably know it's not going to escalate and just hearing grown men threaten each other over sign-stealing is hilarious. Josh Allen had the perfect quote about it too that Coen just had to do what he needed to do. Give me more coach scuffles. We need it in the NFL.
