With The Clippers Holding Their Media Day Today, Pablo Torre Dropped Even More Incriminating Evidence Around Steve Ballmer And The Kawhi Leonard Scandal

In the event you may have thought Pablo Torre was done dropping new and incriminating evidence around Steve Ballmer/the Clippers and the Kawhi Leonard scandal, I have some bad news for you. Today is not that day.

In fact, with the teams around the NBA holding their Media Days today (including the Clippers), Pablo Torre has decided this was the perfect time to unleash his latest findings. While previous drops had been more along the lines of a "smoking gun" that Adam Silver says the league needs (despite the CBA saying the opposite), today's news is certainly interesting when you remember how Steve Ballmer tried to spinzone this entire scandal.

Let's have a listen

Well, well, well, isn't that interesting? I don't know much about how the uber-rich operate, but my guess is that if they are aware of a person or company conning them, they stop giving them money? No? Is that too logical? Because let's not forget, when all of this broke and things didn't look great for Ballmer and the Clippers, he did what anyone in his position would do. He booked a team-friendly ESPN sitdown and tried to do his best to make it clear that you know what? He was actually the vitcim in all this

“I don’t know why they did what they did. And I don’t know how different it is… Any speculation would be crazy. These were guys who committed fraud. How would I be able to — look, they conned me… At this stage, I have no ability to predict why they might have done anything they did. Let alone the specific contract with Kawhi.”

Everyone knows that when you are taken advantage of or conned by someone, the next step is to obviously continue to give them millions of dollars after the fact. That's totally normal behavior, find a new slant. This little nugget of information Pablo released sure does make it seem hard to buy the idea that Ballmer was completely blindsided and taken advantage of by this CEO and this fugazi tree company. I mean, maybe that also happened, but there's clearly something going on because if that were the case, who in their right mind still gives out that kind of cash? Like everything else with this scandal, I'm not sure that passes the smell test.

And don't you worry, there's more!

See, this is what all these people somehow don't get. Pablo has the receipts! He's showing us the texts! He's showing us the paper trail! Every single time the NBA or the Clippers or Mark Cuban tries to come up with some new spinzone attempt, here comes Pablo with even more evidence. We are watching a sports journalism master at work, I'm afraid. And sure, my moron brain may not understand all this shit about carbon credits, puts, investing, blah blah blah, but I'm pretty sure you don't need to be the Wolf Of Wall Street to understand that this all looks pretty damn incriminating. At the very least, it is VERY MUCH NOT a "nothing to see here!!" situation like Adam Silver, Steve Ballmer, and Mark Cuban want you to believe.

Of all the things we've been told from that side, the part about nobody having any idea this "deal" was taking place might be my favorite. These are all just coincidences! Oh, there's a paper trail? How funny! That's just so weird and in no way at all indicative of what was actually happening! Don't be silly!

I also love that this latest drop is coming on the Clippers' Media Day, because I cannot wait to see how they dodge questions about it. I'm sure they woke up thinking today was going to maybe be about the new Big 3 of Kawhi/Beal/Harden, or how they anticipate Brook Lopez making an impact as a stretch 5, maybe some questions about exciting rookie Yanic Konan Niederhauser etc. Instead, we're about to see them squirm as the team tries to spinzone this latest Pablo Torre drop. That is of course, if they allow the media to ask about it. That's also what I'm interested in seeing. Does anyone follow up on this? I'm not sure if Pablo Torre will be there, I can't imagine the Clippers even let him in the building after the run he's been on, so will anyone else put the Clippers feet to the fire today? Media Days are usually all fluff and used as a way to pander to the fanbase so everyone can get excited for the upcoming season.

But for the Clippers, it sure seems like they have bigger fish to fry at the moment. Good luck!
