'Solid Dude. Good Teammate. He Wasn't A Dick' - Steven Adams Describing Kevin Durant With Only The Highest Of Compliments, Sums Up A Perfect Friendship

I don't really care about all the preseason NBA shit. It's performative and usually worthless. But, I do listen when Steven Adams talks because he's one of the most entertaining and unique men in all of sports. He'll say whatever he wants, helps that he's massive because if you're massive you can do whatever you want. If Steven Adams was a 5'8" dude from Westlake, Ohio no one would care.

Instead he summed up the best kind of friendship guys can have. We're mostly all simple-minded people who become friends and bond over misery of sports, bellying up to a bar and then eventually you become friends because your kids are friends. It's all a matter of what stage in life you are. For instance, I'm at the point now where I've made my friends, everyone else is just going to be the dad of one of my son's friends who I watch a game with. Katic and Dana Beers on the other hand? I'm jealous of this sort of blossoming relationship:

And the judgement of becoming friends with another dude is simple. Do they like sports (or whatever interest you have, cars and what not. Not really sure what else is out there), can you have a couple drinks with them and are they assholes? Or in this case, are they dicks? Steven Adams is firmly on the side of thinking Kevin Durant is a good teammate because of that. It's a good way to go about it. Don't overpromise and underdeliver.
