Sometimes I do wonder if MJ stories are built up like stories about literally Christ himself where as there's definitely some truth in there but he's so beloved people feel like they need to build him up even more and make him literally flawless. Like I think if you had enough podcast clips over the years we'd eventually get someone to say a story about MJ that he rowed a canoe to practice to help his arm strength, or that he hit 594930903 shots in a row. The guy's already the greatest winner in basketball history he doesn't need anymore of a boost. Yet people keep rolling out these stories and we all eat them up. In fairness can you blame us? They are all awesome. 

Anyway, I absolutely loved this one. Boyz II Men is an all time group and to here Stockman tell how the XI was trashed by everyone yet MJ (of course) knew they would be a fashion hit is so perfect. Of course he did. Only MJ could predict a shoe everyone hated would be literally the most fashionable shoe in basketball history. My entire life you were scorned if you even THOUGHT of wearing XI's on the court instead of off. 

Luckily for Boyz II Men, they had the stones to wear a pair on the red carpet and it went insane. Which in turn led them to free J's forever. All time move by MJ to take care of the guys when he needed a boost on visibility the most. That's also got to be so cool to just pick up a phone and be like yeah those new pairs everyone is dying to get? Send us a box. Unreal flex. I would be ABUSINGGGGGGG that power like no other.
