We're finally getting the finale to Peacemaker Season 2 on HBO Max tonight, and it feels like the biggest comic book related powder-keg in a while is about to blow. James Gunn has called it a "super-sized" finale, he's said it is the "craziest, wildest, most insane and wonderful episode of 'Peacemaker' ever produced", and he's kept any and all details about it shrouded in secrecy for months. Nobody was allowed to see the final three episodes of the season prior to release, including Gunn's own publicist, because he has been so cautious of spoilers leaking - and he just PROMISED it is "nothing like anyone expects or has guessed" so far.

Considering how this is being treated, and the fact that it supposedly leads directly into the next movie in the 'Superman' saga, 'Man of Tomorrow' - I think there's a decent chance we're getting a big cameo or two in this finale. We already got a great scene with Nicholas Hoult's Lex Luthor in Episode 6 (and Sydney Happersen last week) but I think there's a chance we get the big man himself tonight. Despite James Gunn saying David Corenswet wouldn't be in 'Peacemaker' Season 2….

….I feel like it would make perfect sense! Peacemaker was slagging him off on television and Corenswet dropping by to ask him what was up with that would be a funny little scene to end the season.

If we don't get Superman, I do think we'll at least get another scene with Lex - who may be my favorite casting in Gunn's entire DCU so far. I thought Nicholas Hoult stole the show in 'Superman' and he may be even better with the shackles off in 'Peacemaker', where he can talk about his cellmates buttfucking each other and whatnot. More Lex is always welcome.

You know who else from 'Superman' that both Clem and I want to see more of? God damn Mister Terrific. Edi Gathegi played him as such a cool suave genius I fell in love with that character immediately. We're already dealing with portals and wobbles and inter-dimensional bullshit - why not call in the guy who helped solve the rift in Metropolis just a month ago?

Clem brought up more of a wildcard cameo that would absolutely rule, which is G.I. Robot from the 'Creature Commandos' cartoon. G.I. Robot is essentially just a Nazi killing machine who is constantly looking for any excuse to brutally murder Nazis - AND WE'VE GOT A WHOLE UNIVERSE OF EM TO DEAL WITH NOW! G.I. would be a kid in a candy store on Earth-X, and could be realistically called in by Rick Flagg Sr as they worked together in 'Creature Commandos'. It'd be an awesome further tie-in to that series as well.

There's definitely some other dark horse options, ranging from Brainiac to Killer Croc to Batman himself to the debuting Teen Titans - and I don't know if they'll get THAT crazy, but I also think pretty much anything is on the table. I can't wait for tonight.
