'I Don't Understand How New York Can Call In And Be Like That's Not A Catch' - TJ Hockenson, Like Everyone Else, Has No Idea What's A Catch And Fed Up With Replay

This is the play that Hockenson is going to be talking about here. Ruled a touchdown, taken away because of 'enhanced images'

I don't know man. I have no idea if it's a catch because what's a catch in the NFL changes on a game-by-game basis. But what I do know is we lost the entire idea of how replay should be used

It's not even just for football, every sport has problems when it comes to reviews and replays. It starts with the fact that refs know they can fuck up calls and it'll be reviewed anyways. It's made games unbearable from an officiating standpoint because they just signal to a monitor or wait for a challenge flag or hope that replay assist comes in. Speaking of which, why not just use replay assist all the time? If you're going to have scoring and turnover plays be automatically reviewed, why even have a challenge flag? Speed the entire game up and either you get 2 challenges and no assist or automatic replays or make everything automatic replay.

We somehow went decades, centuries even, without replay and everyone seemed cool with it. Now you have refs apologizing saying they thought it was a touchdown, league getting called out for buzzing in two weeks in a row and no one having an idea if it's a catch. At some point this whole thing needs fixed, put a time limit on how long you can review a play before you move on with the game.
