Luckiest Man In The World: College Golfer In Tennessee Gets Two Hole-In-Ones ... On The Same Hole .... On The Same Day
What the hell is this sort of insanity? People beg for one hole-in-one in their life, now we got Niel Phillips out here doing it on the same hole, on the same day, to start two separate rounds? That's the luckiest man in the world. That's the person I want to be the most right now. There's gotta be no better feeling than telling this story for the rest of your life. I wouldn't go one round of golf without bringing up the time that I got a couple aces on the same day. Not to mention we're looking at a 195-yard hole. Not exactly the most common place for your hole-in-one, without knowing the course I'd say the 105-yard hole is where this should happen.
I don't even know how I'd react on the second one. You obviously celebrate your first swing of the day and lose it even more when you realize it's an ace. Then you have to react again in round 2? I'd walk off. You're not reaching this high again. It's a better high than winning the tournament or breaking par or whatever your goal is. The two aces on the same hole on the same day is something that I don't think you'll see again. At least not in competitive golf, you'll get some random guy playing 36-holes on a Tuesday get it, but not in this setting.
I didn't know I'd be jealous of a college golfer in Tennessee named Niel, but here we are. I want half of this one day in my life. No more close calls, no more thinking about a couple more rotations. Just give me that ace I've been chasing my entire life.
