'It's Been A Losing Culture Around Here For A Long Time' - Ashton Jeanty Sounds Like He's In Hell Realizing How Bad The Raiders Really Are
A perfect clip from a rookie who goes from winning basically all his life to realizing being a high draft pick means you're stuck in hell. That's Ashton Jeanty and the Raiders. He's not wrong. It has been a losing culture around there forever, it's why they don't have a playoff win since 2002. The last playoff win sent them to the Super Bowl. The last playoff win was MVP Rich Gannon. Yeah, that's a losing culture. Hell, they've only made the playoffs twice since then.
And I know what Jeanty is saying here. He's trying to say the culture is going to change as they grow together with him and Brock Bowers. But, will it? We're not in the 80s or late 90s anymore when the Raiders were actually good. Nothing says they are going to fix anything, they still don't have a quarterback, they don't have this future to really sell fans on. They still have the best logo in the game and an elite look, but other than that, they are just there as a franchise.
I don't even think Raiders fans can be upset about this. Jeanty is just saying what it is, why lie when everyone has a brain? You just gotta hope and pray that it changes before he leaves your franchise for another team. Really just find a quarterback. That seems like step 1 since Geno Smith has been awful. At least it only took him 7 weeks to realize who the Raiders are. Perfect thing to be talking about heading into a bye week.
