Checking In On The Jets: Aaron Glenn Won't Name A Starting QB So The Bengals Don't Get A 'Competitive Advantage', Promises They Will Have A QB On Sunday
I gotta admit, Aaron Glenn saying this with a straight face and fairly seriously is the biggest win of the Jets season. Sure, it's the only win of the Jets season, but still the biggest. What makes it even funnier is Tyrod Taylor is hurt
Oh, or the other option got publicly eviscerated by the Jets owner 24 hours ago
But, hey, Aaron Glenn promises there will be a quarterback on Sunday. Everyone knows step 1 of coaching an NFL team is making sure you have a quarterback, any quarterback, for a game. We're also talking about Tyrod Taylor and Justin Fields here. Forget any talent jokes, they have plenty of tape! We're not talking about a new rookie or a guy who hasn't been around before, I'm pretty sure the Bengals know what to expect with either quarterback.
Either way, just say you're evaluating the quarterbacks. The moment Aaron Glenn said they didn't want to give the Bengals a competitive advantage, everyone is going to make fun of you. It's a simple PR thing that you don't need to say, but here we are with the Jets. They are the gift that keeps on giving. For as much as we like to make fun of the Cowboys and Jerry Jones, they aren't 0-7. Hey, congrats on having a quarterback on Sunday though. That's a big step for an NFL team.
